Camouflage
Camouflage makes animals hard to see. The blend in with the environment or they look like something they are not. For example, some insects look like leaves, or thorns, or sticks. so that predators may not recognize them as food. Some predators, such as snakes, may have color patterns that look like leaves, so prey animals do not see them.
Below are two examples of animals in Costa Rica that have good camouflage.
